Bunker Survey

Bunker Fuel Quantity Survey (BQS), also referred to as Bunker Stem Survey and Quality Survey, holds paramount importance for both buyers and sellers to prevent losses, shortages, and potential disputes. Surveyors are tasked with adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and industry standards, as well as any specific requirements from involved parties, ensuring safety and accuracy. It’s in the buyer’s best interest to engage a reputable surveying party or company to verify the proper loading and delivery quantities of fuel, as well as to ensure fuel quality through accredited and certified laboratory testing.

Surveyors’ reports encompass a range of elements, including but not limited to:

Photography upon client request and where permitted
Comprehensive Bunker Inspection/Survey with fuel analytics reports
Calculation reports for delivered fuel quantity based on density and water testing
In essence, surveyors bear the primary responsibility of determining the quantity delivered by the barge and received by the vessel.
Additionally, we provide On-hire and Off-hire Surveys for vessels, inspecting the main deck and cargo working areas to identify any damages before vessels are hired on or off.
