Europeans Prepare Military Exercises in Greenland, Trump’s Ambitions Undeterred

Europe Begins Military Moves in Greenland

European NATO allies — including France, Germany, Sweden, Norway, the U.K., and others — have started sending small military contingents to Greenland, joining Danish forces for military exercises and preparations in the Arctic.

These deployments are part of a Danish-led exercise known as Operation Arctic Endurance, designed to strengthen allied readiness in the high Arctic, improve surveillance, and reinforce collective defense capabilities.

Why It Matters?

Greenland’s location — rich in resources and strategically positioned between North America and Europe — makes it a key geopolitical flashpoint.

Europe’s military role and NATO cooperation illustrate deepening concern over Arctic security and the future of the alliance amid differing U.S. and European perspectives.
